A Native of Columbus, GA, William Pratt is currently in his second year of doctoral studies of trumpet performance at the University of North Texas. As an activeperformer, William has played with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, The Dallas Opera Orchestra, Southeastern Louisiana University Faculty Brass Quintet, Providence Brass, and Center Brass. As a soloist, William has been featured with the Southeastern Louisiana University Chamber Orchestra and Wind Symphony. In 2011 and 2012, he was designated as a semi-finalist in the National Trumpet Competition Solo Division. In 2014, William performed in the final round of the University of North Texas Concerto Competition. He has performed and recorded extensively with the University of North Texas Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra.
With an extensive pedagogical lineage, William is an accomplished trumpet instructor in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. William holds a Bachelor’s degree from Columbus State University in trumpet performance. He held Graduate Teaching Assistantship at Southeastern Louisiana University where he completed his Master’s degree in trumpet performance. His mentors include Dr. Moffatt Williams, Dr. Robert Murray, Dr. Logan Place, and Prof. John Holt.
